Liberty is so classy!

My sweet (?) sister joined me in London after her trip in Germany
and Italy. We were very much impressed by the superb arrangements
of merchandise at the Liberty department store. It was like visiting
a museum of contemporary artifacts.

Good-luck Shopping Day, January 2, 2008

January the second is the first day for shopping of a new year.
Many stores put their "good-luck" packages (Fukubukuro) for
special sales. So, we went to Ginza searching for our good luck
for the year 2008. To purchase these packages, you need to pay
in cash although recently increasing numerbs of business
transactions are processed with plastics here just like any other
industrialized parts of the world.
In spite of recent openings of European fashion houses such as
Armani, Burgari, Hermes and so on, Ginza still keeps certain
traditional flair of Japanese businesses since the Edo period.
That is the charm of this commercial area.
Ginza 4-chome attracts many shoppers.

the fall of 2007.

Hunting at the Filene's Basement 2007

Filene's Basement in the 1990's was the place where we could find Ferragamo shoes & bags, Armani jackets, and Gucci sweathers in bargain prices. My friend Kumiko and I used to hunt great clothes and shoes there. I still keep some of beautiful shoes and bags from that glorious era of the FB with me. Those are good old days. -- FB in 2007 is not the place for luxurious French and Italian items anymore. Lament not my fellow Fileners. It is still fun to find incredible bargain prices there. Here are two items I purchased today:

Dana Buchman wasabi-color glittering skirt $23.58 (originaly $195.20)
Calvin Klein footliner 2pairs $2.39 (originaly $8.00)

My bargain hunting instinct took me to the Gap. Here are two bargain items I found:

Black cardigan $4.97
Purple camisole $8.99

American stores go bargain so deep!!
